Heads Cracking

*Shudder* Two kids seriously scared a few years off my life today.

We were outside for morning recess. I was watching the kiddos have fun munching away on cheezits and playing.

I caught out of the corner of my eye, one lil boy running and playing. Another boy playing and spinning around. Then I saw them collide heads together and heard the THUNKing sound of heads cracking together. I took both by the hand, told another teacher to watch the rest of my kids, and I RUSHED the two up to the nurses office. I could see, on each child, HUGE eggs forming on their foreheads. Never good. Plus they were already green within seconds!!!! So they both went home. Poor things. But seriously my heart stopped and I felt so HORRIBLE that they had hurt themselves. They were not being bad. They were simply having fun and not paying attention. They were not even playing together. Accidents happen when you are with kids.

My mom said she freaked when I got a egg bump on my head as a kid. She said she cried along with me. I can now see WHY she reacted that way. These two kids don't even belong to me and I was so rattled by what had happened. Yeah, I'm not sure my nerves can handle seeing my own child with a bump. When Cash gets sick I tear up...I can just imagine when I have kids of my own.

Negative 11!!!!!!!

Yay, today was my weigh in day. I lost another 3 lbs. Which makes for a TOTAL loss of 11 lbs. I'm excited! That and the chart is good for people like me who need to see results. Every 5 lbs I loose, I get that date marked with a star. I so feel like a kid, but what can I say? I like visual reminders!

In other news I'm going to go make the BEST ever brownies from scratch. And somewhere along the line I need to do lesson plans. :)

Happy Easter!!!

So yesterday, my brother and I tried to explain what the meaning of Easter was to my nephew. Talk about a fun conversation:

me- "Steven you know who Jesus is?"
stevie- "no"
brother- "Kinda hard to explain when he doesnt know the main character"..."lets hope that he doesn't ask how the bunny is related to all of this".

By the end of the conversation he knew the main idea. Good enough for us!

He had a good Easter, and we are getting ready to eat steak, sweet potatoes, and asparagus. I baked brownies from scratch from a Weightwatchers Cookbook. They better be good after all that work including using a double boiler.

Here is a picture of him a few minutes ago. He is playing with his yoda and other star wars characters on his FISHING game. (I loved that game when I was lil).

In Weightwatchers news, I lost 3 more lbs!!! So I have a loss of 8lbs in 2 weeks. Not too shabby.

Five Years

So, I'm pretty headachey with all of this wind. However, I am really enjoying my 5 days off (including weekend). Cannot complain. I did a MOUNTAIN of dishes today. Geez I really need to start doing those on a regular basis. Tomorrow I hope to do some more housework tomorrow.

So the hubby and I have been together as a couple for 5 years as of April 8th. We only celebrate our Wedding Anniversary now. But even though we don't do anything, we still both remember the date.

I remember some of the very first conversations we had together. I told him "Yeah, I don't want a boyfriend or a relationship right now". He was sad, but told me that he was a person who meant what they said and they are good and honest blahblahblah. I was thinking in my head that I have heard these lines before. He told me to take one day at a time and he would prove himself to me. I figured there was no harm in that. He eventually won me over (no small feat, as I am pretty stubborn). Here we are 5 years later. :)

*happy dance*

I got a happy surprise when I got on my scale for my first weekly weigh in for weight watchers. I lost 5 lbs in one week!!!!!!!! I was very excited. My goal is 2 lbs per week. I hope to have 7 by next Sunday.

I think that weightwatchers is something that could actually work for me because its more about portion size and moderation.

I have a VERY hard time giving up carbs, but this I can actually eat them. Unlike the first 2 weeks of the South Beach Diet (which I can loose weight VERY quickly but it comes back right away).

For example: The hubby and I went to Olive Garden (my FAVORITE) for lunch. I ordered 1 bowl of minestrone soup. I requested my bread to be plain and only had one stick. I also had the lettuce plain with low fat dressing on the side. THEN I didn't eat any of the croutons. SOOO delicious, but better than previous choices I would have made. Oh yeah, and water with lemon. This was defintely more points than I eat for lunch, but it was a nice treat AND I am still completely within my POINTS for today.

In other news: Spring break is approaching!!! No school Thursday, Friday, and Monday. It will be a much needed break.

DIT or RIF

Today went well with the kiddos. Much improved behavior. No clue what happened yesterday.

Depressing news: my other first grade team member (and theres only the 2 of us) found out he was RIF (reduction in force). I was SO surprised. Turns out our school disctrict cut 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year teachers. I know 4 other people who were RIF as well. I thought they would only cut 1st and maybe second year teachers. But not the case. Depressing. I thought at the most they would DIT (district initiated transfer) the 3rd year teachers. For the record: I have been a teacher for 3 and a half years. So half of a year saved me from loosing my job. Although I am still not safe. I feel SO nervous as to what might happen in the next few months. I am defintely still not "safe" by any means.

stress stress stress.

They should REALLY put more money in education. Otherwise its gona come back to bite people in the butt that kids aren't getting what they need when they are young.

long day

Wow, was today ever long. Kids get antsy at the end of the year. Lets NOT recap cause once was enough.

What is fun is the dieting is going well so far. I had a Starbucks today, which makes me happy. Fat free version is just as caffinated. YUM caffine from starbucks. LOVE IT. One of the UofA students brings me it. FABULOUS. I hope to see 2 lbs gone by Sunday. Have my fingers crossed.

Why do the papers report all the budget cuts on front page but do not report the title one monies that we received? stupid.

Here are some fun pics that make me happy.

Me and the doggie. I had my hair cut and i put it into wet mini pigtails after the shower. BE QUIET! I was being lazy and not feeling hair styling or makeup. Whatever.

Me and my baby love:

I like to wear my husband's slippers:
